How we calculate it

°C = (°F − 32) × 5 ÷ 9. °F = °C × 9 ÷ 5 + 32. K = °C + 273.15.

A common oven setting of 350 °F is 176.7 °C, and water boils at 100 °C, which is 212 °F or 373.15 K.

Assumptions and limits

  • Values below absolute zero (−273.15 °C, −459.67 °F, 0 K) are rejected.
  • Results are rounded to two decimals for display.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert Fahrenheit to Celsius?

Subtract 32 and multiply by 5/9. 68 °F gives (68 − 32) × 5/9 = 20 °C.

What temperature is the same in Celsius and Fahrenheit?

−40. At that point both scales read the same number.

What is 350 °F in Celsius?

About 176.7 °C, which is often rounded to 175 °C for oven settings.
